If you do not have administrator privileges, contact your administrator.

If you have administrator privileges, use the following procedure to change the settings and then set the password.

■For Windows 7
  1. Click [Start].
  2. Right-click [Computer] and click [Manage].
  3. When the [Computer Management] screen appears, select [System Tools] - [Local Users and Groups] - [Users].
  4. Right-click the user and click [Properties].
  5. Uncheck [User cannot change password] and click the [OK] button to exit.

■For Windows 8.1
  1. Right-click in the lower left corner of the screen and select [Computer Management] from the pop-up menu.
  2. When the [Computer Management] screen appears, select [System Tools] - [Local Users and Groups] - [Users].
  3. Right-click the user and click [Properties].
  4. Uncheck [User cannot change password] and click the [OK] button to exit.

■For Windows 10
  1. Click [Start].
  2. Click [Settings].
  3. When the [Settings] screen appears, click [System] - [About] - [Administrative Tools].
  4. The [Administrative Tools] screen appears. Double-click [Computer Management].
  5. When the [Computer Management] screen appears, select [System Tools] - [Local Users and Groups] - [Users].
  6. Right-click the user and click [Properties].
  7. Uncheck [User cannot change password] and click the [OK] button to exit.

■For Windows 11
  1. Click on [Start] - [All apps] - [Windows Tools] - [Computer management].
  2. When the [Computer Management] screen appears, select [System Tools] - [Local Users and Groups] - [Users].
  3. Right-click the user and click [Properties].
  4. Uncheck [User cannot change password] and click the [OK] button to exit.

Please follow the steps below to change the settings as this will lower the security level.

*However, setting the password may affect the connection to the server and the importing of scanned documents to the PC by a multifunction device, etc.
 In this case, please set the password on the server side and multifunction device side at the same time.
 If you are not sure how to set the password, please contact your administrator.

*Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and the 'Change password' button will be displayed.
